The game, which will kick-off at 7:45PM, will be Rangers’ second appearance on the network following the 2017 League Cup final and will historically be the first time that a live game has been broadcast from the Loughshore Hotel Arena.
It will be a tough encounter as Niall Currie’s young and newly promoted side play host to Danske Bank Premiership Champions Linfield in front of what is sure to be a bumper crowd.
Confirming that the Sky Sports cameras will be coming to Taylors Avenue, Chairman Peter Clarke commented,
“We are absolutely delighted our home fixture against Linfield has been chosen by Sky to be one of their live televised games this season. The board, management team and players worked so hard last season to regain promotion and this is exactly the type of game we all want to be involved in. The atmosphere around the club currently is fantastic and this news will further increase the excitement around the entire town.
The pitch is in great shape and so much work has been, and still is, ongoing around the Loughshore Hotel Arena in the off season. The Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has been extremely helpful with their assistance and support in this work and we thank them for that.
There are a lot of games to be played before this fixture comes around but this exciting news will certainly give us an added boost in the weeks ahead.”
