The 19 year-old striker joined the Club in the Summer of 2019 from Crusaders, plying his trade for CRFC Reserves under Manager Scott Irvine.
Under Irvine's stewardship, McGreevy netted 14 goals for the Premiership Development League side earning himself invaluable game-time in the First Team during the 2019/20 season as a result.
Delighted to see Josh staying and making the step up, Scott commented:
"I'm over the moon for Josh. He has worked extremely hard and developed areas of his game which have led him to this point. At this Club, young lads will be given opportunities to play Senior football. Thankfully, Josh trusted that and will no doubt push on next season."
Josh made his debut for the First Team in December's 1-0 loss to Glenavon at Mourneview Park and went on to make 4 appearances for the 'Gers last season.
First Team Manager Niall Currie was equally as enthusiastic:
"We feel that Josh has a real chance. He's very early in his career and development but that's what our Club is about. We will do our very best to give the wee man every opportunity to continue to gather the experience he needs."
Excited for the upcoming season, Josh McGreevy added:
"As one of the youngest players in the squad this season I'm excited to get going. Carrick Rangers is a great club, who focus on developing their younger players and giving us excellent opportunities to play Irish League football.
Having played for the Reserves last year, getting the chance to make my first team debut was amazing. I am looking forward to getting the head down, working hard and focusing on the season ahead with a great bunch of lads - I'm buzzing to get started."
Look forward to seeing you back at the Avenue, Josh! #AmberArmy
