The 27 year-old defender joined the ‘Gers last Summer after leaving Portadown and made 11 appearances over the course of the season, winning the Spirit of ‘76 Supporters Club Player of the Month for January in the process.
On securing Mark’s signature, Niall Currie commented:
“We’re delighted to have Mark stay on with us. He is like myself - a lot of travelling is needed but he has shown unbelievable commitment to our Club from the moment he arrived. He hadn’t kicked a ball until Lee Chapman’s injury last season and then he got plenty of games.
What he showed is exactly what any Club wants - patience and belief. Our system suits him down to the ground and you wouldn't believe how popular this wee man is with our squad. So we’re all delighted and so am I personally - he’s wonderful to have.”
Carson was equally pleased to be remaining with the ‘Gers, saying:
“I’m delighted to extend my stay at Carrick Rangers. This is a Club going in the right direction and it’s great to be a part of it. Good times are ahead and it will be great to be back with everyone at the Loughshore Hotel Arena.”
Glad to have you with us, Carsy! #AmberArmy
