25-year-old Gibson, also known by his nickname ‘Yaya’, joins from Championship side Loughgall and was previously on the books of Lurgan Celtic and Dollingstown.
Impressing when the ‘Gers faced Loughgall in pre-season action in August, the midfielder linked up with his new teammates on Tuesday evening as he featured in the 2-0 friendly win against Barn United.
Happy to have bolstered his options in the middle of the park, Niall Currie said,
“We are over the moon to get Jordan on board. I have watched him for many years now and for me he has always been that special player. He is 25-years-old now and I am delighted he has shown that desire that our club needs to play at the highest level and for me, he should have been playing at this level from years ago, though better late than never.
I'm very excited to finally have him with us and our supporters can be excited about this big man who will strengthen our squad massively. He has everything needed to succeed here and it is all in his own hands now to do that.”
Equally happy to be arriving at the Loughshore Hotel Arena, Jordan Gibson added,
“As a player, you're always looking to test yourself at the highest level possible so I am absolutely delighted that Niall and Carrick Rangers have given me that opportunity.
Finishing 8th last season was an incredible achievement, so if we are looking to replicate that again this year we know we have to work extremely hard with the standard of this league growing every year.
I am over the moon to be here and I really can’t wait to get started.”
Welcome to Carrick Rangers, Jordan!
