The Colts second game of this season was played at home on the 3G pitch on a sunny but windy day, and within two minutes the Colts went ahead from a throw in which a carefully crafted cross from Dines, found Neil who headed into the bottom corner from 6 yards. 1-0.
In the 5th min of play Carrick's second goal came when 5 yards outside the box when Macauley with great precision slipped the ball on to Thompson who shot into the corner of goal from 10 yards. 2-0.
On the 8th min at the other end the Colts keeper Fulton made a reaction save knocking the ball over the bar after an Ards corner.
A solid defensive half from the Carrick lads seen out a good half with the final chance on 42nd min being created by a Dines cross to his favoured forward Neil who this time headed over the Ards goal

Quick off the start and within 5mins of the second half Fulton in goal took a quick free kick from his own half up the pitch to the advancing Macauley who placed the ball between the legs of the keeper. 3-0.
39th min a Mcilfatrick run from his own half drawing in a defender then played in Wade driving home a low shot from just inside the box. 4-0.
Now in complete control goal 5 in the 40th min came with the workman like Banda playing a wide ball to Mcauley whose cross was headed home with force by Kelso. 5-0.
With only a few minutes left on the clock and the Colts defence of Dines, Lilburn, Magill and Williamson playing so well the clean sheet looked good, unfortunately a touch of indiscipline from the Colts midfield ruined a perfect day as Ards capitalised when foul after foul was given away just outside the box. Quickly taken to a player wide who cut inside and finished off. 5-1.
