U19's Hit 5 Past Ards
Saturday 20th September v Ards

The Colts second game of this season was played at home on the 3G pitch on a sunny but windy day, and within two minutes the Colts went ahead from a throw in which a carefully crafted cross from Dines, found Neil who headed into the bottom corner from 6 yards. 1-0.

In the 5th min of play Carrick's second goal came when 5 yards outside the box when Macauley with great precision slipped the ball on to Thompson who shot into the corner of goal from 10 yards. 2-0.

On the 8th min at the other end the Colts keeper Fulton made a reaction save knocking the ball over the bar after an Ards corner.

A solid defensive half from the Carrick lads seen out a good half with the final chance on 42nd min being created by a Dines cross to his favoured forward Neil who this time headed over the Ards goal

Half Time: Colts 2-0 Ards

Quick off the start and within 5mins of the second half Fulton in goal took a quick free kick from his own half up the pitch to the advancing Macauley who placed the ball between the legs of the keeper.  3-0.

39th min a Mcilfatrick run from his own half drawing in a defender then played in Wade driving home a low shot from just inside the box. 4-0.

Now in complete control goal 5 in the 40th min came with the workman like Banda playing a wide ball to Mcauley whose cross was headed home with force by Kelso. 5-0.

With only a few minutes left on the clock and the Colts defence of Dines, Lilburn, Magill and Williamson playing so well the clean sheet looked good, unfortunately a touch of indiscipline from the Colts midfield ruined a perfect day as Ards capitalised when foul after foul was given away just outside the box.  Quickly taken to a player wide who cut inside and finished off.  5-1.

Final Score: Colts 5-1 Ards

Fulton, Williamson, Lilburn, Dines, Magill, Watters, McGrath, Thompson, Macauley, Neil, Mcilfatrick
