'Gers sign Martin Maybin
Carrick Rangers are delighted to announce the signing of 25-year-old striker Martin Maybin.

The forward started off his career at Larne Colts where he scored more than 300 goals in all competitions, before moving on to Glentoran’s youth academy. Despite the East Belfast side’s interest in potentially handing Maybin a professional contract, he opted to travel to the USA to study and progress his footballing career.

Maybin played five years of college soccer at Regis University where he was named both the South Central region and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference player of the year, racking up 53 goals in 73 games. In 2015 Maybin joined the Colorado Springs Switchbacks and made 52 appearances, netting 10 goals.

On signing Maybin, manager David McAlinden commented, “I’m continuing to shape the squad at the moment and Martin will come in and will be given an opportunity as he’s returned home to Northern Ireland and wants to play in the Premiership. He’s an energetic, all-action centre-forward who likes to score goals so I’m delighted to bring him to the club.”

Welcome to the ‘Gers, Martin! #AmberArmy
