Niall Currie will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Knockbreda. Michael Smith netted either side of the break to secure Rangers’ first three points of the Bluefin Sport Championship at Breda Park.
However, Sport & Leisure will be tough opponents as they sit top of the Bluefin Sport Premier Intermediate League following the opening round of fixtures. Packie McAllister’s side hosted Armagh City on Saturday and picked up a 5-1 win, with former Carrick player Kevin Lynch among the goals.
This will be the first competitive meeting between the sides in almost 7 years when, coincidentally, the ‘Gers also hosted the West Belfast club in the League Cup! Carrick came away 5-1 winners on that night in 2011, and since then have travelled twice to play the Swifts in pre-season games.
New signing Gary Warwick could make his debut tomorrow evening while Caolan Loughran is once again available having served his one game suspension.
A reminder also that season tickets are not valid for tomorrow night’s cup game and so season ticket holders will be required to pay at the turnstile.
The game will kick-off at the Loughshore Hotel Arena at 7:45PM and will be played to a finish. If at the end of normal time the scores are level, two periods of 15 minutes extra-time will be played. Penalty kicks will be required if the scores are still level at the end of extra time.
Plan to get along to Taylors Avenue and join the Amber Army as the ‘Gers aim to get through to the next round of the Bet McLean League Cup!
