The league’s best eleven players were selected by nominations from each team’s manager as well as from the voting members of the NI Football Writers’ Association.
Hogg joined the club at the start of the season following a spell at Ards and has been an integral part of Niall Currie’s team this year, collecting 12 clean sheets from 32 appearances so far, and was rewarded for his performances between the posts in February when he signed an extended contract which will see him remain at Taylors Avenue next season.
Joining Hogg in the Team of the Year is Rangers captain Surgenor who, in his fourth campaign at the East Antrim side, has been a rock in the heart of the backline as his experience has proved vital in leading his younger teammates. Surgenor also agreed to an extended contract at the start of April and will remain at the club next season.
The final Carrick player to make the line-up is centre-half Loughran. Joining on loan at the start of the season from Ballymena United, Loughran has proved a real goal-scoring threat from the back this year, netting ten goals in 32 appearances. The defender has picked up the Spirit of ‘76 SC Player of the Month award three times this season and was voted as the NI Football Writers’ Association Championship Player of the Month for February.
Well done to all three players on their thoroughly deserved places in the team! #AmberArmy
