The 24-year-old, who can play as a right-back or right-midfielder, joined the ‘Gers in the summer of 2016 and has been a consistent player in the last three seasons in which he has made 93 appearances, scoring 6 goals.
Despite struggling with injury problems throughout the year, Chapman proved an important player when Niall Currie re-shaped his formation and will remain at the Loughshore Hotel Arena for the upcoming campaign.
Happy to confirm another re-signing, Niall Currie commented,
“I am delighted to have Lee on board again. He played a massive role in our change of system as a right wing-back. He adapted to the defensive duties of it brilliantly and we know how good he is going forward. His pace is extraordinary and he will be a great asset for us in both systems that we play. As I have said before, we have kept the majority of our squad as they deserve their chance to show that they can deliver in the Premiership and Lee is another member of the core of young, hungry players who gave us the opportunity to play at the highest level.”
Equally pleased to be back on board, Lee Chapman said,
“I am delighted to extend my stay here for another year. It is very exciting to be back in the Premiership again with Carrick and I look forward to building on the success of last season. I would like to thank Peter and Niall for giving me the opportunity to continue representing the club. I would also like to thank the fans for their continued support and hope they are as excited as the players for the upcoming season!”
Great to have you with us, Lee! #AmberArmy
