The 38-year-old will be a familiar face to the ‘Gers faithful having served in the same role under David McAlinden only two seasons ago.
Hunter spent last season as a coach at Bluefin Sport Championship side Portadown and will take up his new role with immediate effect, starting with tomorrow’s season opener at Seaview.
On adding to his backroom team, Niall Currie commented,
“I signed Andy for Ards when we got our first promotion nearing the end of an unbelievable career where he won it all. When I brought him in he was a leader and gave me everything he had. It is important to remember character and Andy is a strong one which is exactly what I wanted.”
Welcome back to Carrick Rangers, Andy! #AmberArmy
