The 30-year-old joins the 'Gers from our East Antrim neighbours Larne until the end of the upcoming season.
Mitchell, who returned to the Irish League in 2017 having had spells in Scotland with Rangers and Annan Athletic and a short stint in England with Southport, has won Premiership titles with both Linfield and Crusaders as well as two Co. Antrim Shield triumphs with Larne.
Having secured the midfielder’s services for the new campaign, Stuart King stated,
"I'm delighted to have signed Andy on loan - it's a massive statement from our Club. I would like to thank the Board for all their support in getting this over the line.
Andy is a winner and ultimate professional who has played at the highest level for some big teams and will raise the standards at the Club"
Mitchell was just as happy to have the loan deal confirmed, adding,
"I’m delighted to agree to join Carrick on loan this season. I’m really looking forward to getting started and giving everything I have for the Club.
I know a lot of the players there either through playing with or against them over my time in the Irish league.
As soon as I met Stuart and Scotty, I was really impressed. He’s someone I knew I really wanted to play for and you only have to look at his squad and see the players who he has brought to the Club.
I just can’t wait now to go and give everything I have for them."
Welcome to the Club, Andy!
