CRFC in Indonesia

Carrick Rangers FC has recently completed a 4-day trip to Indonesia. Whilst there, the delegation explored a range of opportunities designed to build long-term relationships between the Indonesian and European football ecosystems. Indonesia has been identified as one of Carrick Rangers FC’s priority countries in the development of its football network across Asia. This first trip aims to establish relationships for collaboration with football clubs, academies, associations, coaches, scouts, educational institutions, sponsors, media, and other key stakeholders in Indonesia.

Global Academy Pathway

A key element of the trip was to introduce our Global Academy Pathway focusing on youth talent development, improving the quality of coaching and player development, knowledge transfer, coaching methodology, professional scouting, and the creation of structured pathways towards international football opportunities.

The programme is designed to provide young Indonesian players with a clearer and more structured
development pathway, from grassroots and youth football through to higher levels of competition,
football academies, and professional clubs.

Whilst there, our coaching team of Fiona Mooney and Bailey Carroll, held a range of sessions for both boys and girls, culminating in a number of matches in local stadia.

Club Networking Meetings

Club Chairman, Peter Clarke, held a number of Club Networking Meetings. As well as networking, these meetings served as a knowledge-sharing forum, bringing together Carrick Rangers FC with football clubs, academies, associations, coaches, scouts, and other football stakeholders in Indonesia.

The meetings explored various areas of potential collaboration, including player development, training programmes, tournaments, and the development of pathways for Indonesian players towards European football. We also discussed the potential for commercial and other promotional activities with key stakeholders and interested parties.

Long-Term Commitment to Indonesian Football

Carrick Rangers FC hopes that this introduction to the Global Academy Pathway will develop further
and become a sustainable Indonesia–Europe football development pathway. Through this collaboration, talented young Indonesian players are expected to gain broader opportunities to learn, develop, experience international football environments, and pursue pathways towards professional football.

Carrick Rangers FC also welcomes discussions and collaboration with organisations and stakeholders
that share the same vision of supporting the growth and development of Indonesian football, as well as the potential for shared commercial opportunities.

Peter Clarke commented,

“We are absolutely delighted to be here in Indonesia and the welcome we have received has been exceptional. It is our intention to create a long term, sustainable pathway for young players to have the opportunity to play football at the highest level, whether here in Indonesia or in Europe. Our plans will help enable young players to have the opportunity to train in Europe and create a pathway for them to play at the highest level.

The opportunities are immense and we look forward to implementing our Global Pathway Program here in Indonesia, as well as further developing the relationships that we have made.”

Carrick Rangers FC would like to place on record our thanks to the PSSI, PSS Sleman, PPSM Magelang, Persita Tangerang FC, Subardi Nasdem, the Mayor of Magelang, Rita Nowita and Aylmer Woods, along with the people of Indonesia for the warm welcome we received.

We look forward to further developing these connections in the weeks and months to come.
