Reece Remains a Rangers Player

Carrick Rangers is pleased to announce that Reece Glendinning has signed a contract extension to stay at the club.

Able to operate in midfield and defence, Glendinning joined the ‘Gers last summer and made 27 appearances throughout the campaign.

The 26-year-old came through the youth ranks at Linfield, captaining their second team before making his senior debut against Donegal Celtic in January 2013.

Having made 58 appearances and scored three goals for the Blues, Glendinning then spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Ards and ended the campaign on a high by winning two Player of the Year awards.

On the expiry of his Linfield contract, the defender joined Ballymena United and made 23 appearances, netting two goals across a two season spell before his arrival at the Loughshore Hotel Arena.

Happy to extend his stay with the ‘Gers, Reece Glendinning commented,

“I am delighted to be staying, having spoken to Stuart and hearing his plans for Carrick it was a no brainer. After a tough year last year I’m excited to get back and hopefully push on this year.”

Adding another player to his squad for the coming season, Manager Stuart King added,

“I am delighted Reece has agreed to stay, he’s another lad who I had earmarked that I wanted to keep.

My assistant Scott Irvine told me that while he was interim manager Reece stood out, led from the front and demanded the best from his fellow players which I love. The more players like that, the better the club is as a whole.”
