Ramsey, 30, joins the ‘Gers as an experienced defender having featured for a number of Irish League sides across the last decade.
Having been at Manchester City as a youth player, Ramsey returned home to sign for Ballymena United before joining Portadown, spending six years at the Shamrock Park side between 2010 and 2016.
The centre-half then left for Cliftonville, but after struggling with injury during his year-and-a-half spell in north Belfast, he moved to Larne where he was part of the Championship winning side as well as featuring in their return to the top flight last season, with his time at Inver Park then coming to an end last June.
Ramsey then put pen-to-paper for Belfast Celtic, but restrictions on sport deemed non-elite has meant he has yet to play competitive football this season. That, however, could soon change as he is eligible to compete in tomorrow’s Danske Bank Premiership clash with Coleraine.
Ramsey has selected to take #55 as his squad number for the remainder of the season.
Speaking on his first recruit of the January transfer window, Niall Currie said,
“I am absolutely delighted to get Chris on board, he comes with great pedigree at 30 years of age. He has shown us a real hunger and desire to get back playing at the highest level he can and while it’ll take him a week or two to get up to speed, he is going to be a fantastic addition to the team.”
Welcome to the Loughshore Hotel Arena, Chris! #AmberArmy
