Departures

Carrick Rangers can confirm a number of players have departed the club.

Stuart King has been hard at work putting his stamp on the playing squad and has already made his first addition in the form of veteran defender Jim Ervin.

With that also comes a number of players who will be leaving the club. Cathair Friel was the first of this group, moving to Coleraine on the expiry of his contract.

In addition, the following players will also leave the club on expiry of their contracts:

Chris Ramsey

Caolan Loughran

Michael Smith

Furthermore, Jonny Frazer, Jordan Jenkins and Gerard Storey will all depart on the expiry of their loan deals.

Michael Smith is the longest serving player to make his exit, having signed in July 2017 under David McAlinden. Featuring on both the left flank and in attack, Smith racked up 132 appearances for the ‘Gers, scoring 29 goals.

Additionally, Caolan Loughran leaves having spent the last three years as a Carrick player, having been one of Niall Currie’s first recruits in the summer of 2018. In total, Loughran made 92 appearances and netted 25 goals.

Everyone at Carrick Rangers would like to thank all those players moving on for their efforts and commitment during their time at the club and wish them all the best for their futures.
