Gibson, or "Yaya" as he became more commonly known, joined the 'Gers two years ago after impressing in a pre-season friendly against his former side Loughgall.
Operating in both midfield and attack throughout the last two seasons, he amassed 78 appearances and scored 12 goals as a Carrick Rangers player.
