Gillen, a winger, joined the North Belfast side following spells in his youth with Ballymena, Cliftonville, Linfield and Carnmoney and scored the winning goal in their Steel & Sons Cup Final victory over Linfield Swifts last season.
The 21-year-old has impressed on trial with the ‘Gers this summer, scoring in friendlies against Drumaness Mills & Shankill United and ultimately agreeing to sign ahead of the new campaign.
Pleased to have added to his wide options, Stuart King said,
"I’m delighted to have got Aodhan to come to our Club. He’s a player that our scouting team has recommended and we have watched several times last season.
“He’s a quick and direct wide player who can go both ways and has a lot of potential. He has impressed in training and we will work hard with him to make him even better."
Gillen was just as happy to have completed the move, adding,
"I’m delighted and grateful to Carrick Rangers for giving me the opportunity to represent this great Club. I can’t wait to hit the ground running with the lads and start a new chapter in my career.”
Welcome to the Club, Aodhan!
