An attacking midfielder, Dupree joins from Derriaghy CC having played Premiership football with Portadown last season.
The 25-year-old has also enjoyed a spell in the League of Ireland’s Premier Division with Waterford.
Dupree, who came through the youth ranks at Linfield and Cliftonville, will bolster Rangers’ options in midfield and comes into contention for tomorrow night’s trip to face his former side Portadown.
He will wear the number 26 shirt.
On signing for Carrick, Jamal Dupree said,
“I can’t wait to get started, once I heard Stuart (King) was interested I was very keen to come on board.
“I am eager to show what I can do, having played in the Premiership previously as well as in the League of Ireland. The team is doing very well and hopefully I can add to that.”
Regarding his first acquisition of the January window, Stuart King added,
“Jamal is someone who was recommended to me, he has come in and trained with us for the last month and has looked very sharp and strong.
“It was a no-brainer for us as he’s played at a decent level both north and south and will give us another dimension in the middle of the park and in wide areas.
“There were other clubs interested in him but he was impressed with us as we were with him so I’m glad to bring him on board.”
Welcome to Carrick Rangers, Jamal!
