Teelan Time

Carrick Rangers is delighted to announce the signing of James Teelan on loan from Crusaders.

The 21-year-old forward joins the ‘Gers until the end of the campaign, becoming Stuart King’s second January recruit following the addition of Australian midfielder Will Arnold earlier in the month.

A former Portadown and Dungannon Swifts youth player, Teelan got his break in senior football with Newry City where he made 87 appearances and scored 27 goals across two seasons, helping City to win the Championship title, gain promotion to the Premiership and secure their place in the top flight last term.

His standout performances led to a move to Crusaders in May 2023 where he has to date made 19 appearances and netted three goals ahead of his arrival at the Loughview Leisure Arena.

“I am really looking forward to getting started,” said an excited Teelan, who will wear the number 30 shirt for Rangers.

“I want to help the team push for qualification to the European Play-Offs, starting on Friday night against Cliftonville.”

Meanwhile, Manager Stuart King was thrilled to confirm the news of his latest signing.

“I am delighted we have finally got James on board. He is an exciting young player who we have tracked for a few seasons and his pace, assists and goals will be another asset to our team.

“I firstly have to thank the Board, as well as Crusaders and James’ representative David Campbell Sports Management, for their help in getting this loan agreement over the line.”
