Happy 80th, Eric!

Carrick Rangers FC was delighted to welcome lifelong fan Eric Hagan as special guest for our recent home league game against Newry City.

In January, Eric celebrated his 80th birthday and recalls his first sight of the amber and black in his early years, when he would often walk to and from away games to support his beloved ‘Gers.

Eric recalls the 1976 Irish Cup Final victory over Linfield as a memorable day for the Club, as well as the supporting the ‘Gers in Europe the following season as they took on Southampton FC at Seaview.

Carrick Rangers FC has played a big part in Eric’s life over the years. Even the old social club was a regular place to visit on a Saturday night. Reflecting on the past, the wonderful memories, albeit with the desire to alter the odd result here and there!

Eric takes great pride in being a Carrick Rangers supporter and wished to thank the Club for the invitation and gesture to recognise his loyalty over the years.
