The 30-year-old arrives at Taylors Avenue following his departure from Glentoran where he made 117 appearances across four seasons.
As a teenager McCullough made the move from Dungannon Swifts to Manchester United, going on to captain their Academy side before enjoying a period on loan at Cheltenham Town.
He then moved to Doncaster Rovers where he spent six years and made over 100 appearances before concluding his time in England with two seasons at Tranmere Rovers.
McCullough has also had the honour of representing Northern Ireland as a senior international, picking up 6 caps for his country.
“I am delighted to be here,” Luke McCullough commented.
“It’s an exciting time following a 7th place finish last season and, after meeting up with Stuart (King) and Peter (Clarke), it is clear that the Club is looking to kick on again so I am excited to come and be a part of it.”
‘Gers boss Stuart King added,
“I am so happy to add Luke to our squad. He is a full international whose leadership and technical ability will be a massive asset to us and is yet another signing that strengthens our team. I must give credit to my Board for their help with this transfer and to Luke who chose Carrick despite strong offers from other clubs.”
