A Walk For M.E.

Former player Lee Colligan is walking 2,500km across the Irish West Coast & Northern Irish North Coast to raise funds and awareness for the condition M.E. in memory of his brother Josh.

Lee first joined the ‘Gers under Gary Haveron in January 2013, playing out the remainder of the season before he left to go travelling.

His second spell came under Niall Currie, signing in January 2020 and spending just under a year at the Club.

Now, though, Lee finds himself embarking on a walk like no other as he seeks to raise funds and awareness for M.E. in memory of his brother Josh. Covering 40km a day over the course of two months via the “Wild Atlantic Way” and “Causeway Coastal Route”, Lee is self-funding 100% of his walk to ensure that all funds raised go directly to his chosen charities.

Both “Action for M.E” and the “Irish ME/CFS Association” support people living with M.E. and are helping to conduct research in hope of finding a cure for this debilitating illness.

There are estimated to be around 250,000 people in the UK and Ireland suffering with M.E./CFS. It is a complex and chronic medical condition that, at present, has no effective drug treatment and full recovery is rare.

To donate to this worthy cause, visit one of the following pages; any donation will be greatly received by both of Lee’s chosen charities.
