Gary will be responsible for overseeing the development of all phases within the Carrick Rangers Academy.
“I am excited about this new chapter for me as the Youth Football Director of the Academy. The opportunity to develop local talent in Carrickfergus and wider areas is incredibly exciting, and I am ready to make a lasting impact.
With our current facilities and plans for the future, I firmly believe our Academy has everything it needs to become one of the very best.
By maximising the potential of every player, we will aim produce the next generation of talent who will hopefully one day play for Carrick Rangers FC.
My relationship with our Board, Adrian Stewart, Gary Swann and the support coaching staff along with First Team Manager Stephen Baxter is already very strong and I will look to use that to maximise the pathway from the Academy to the First Team. I am grateful for this opportunity and truly excited for the bright future ahead.”
Carrick Rangers FC Academy Chairman, Adrian Stewart added, “We are delighted to appoint Gary Scott to the role of Youth Football Director of our Academy and are looking forward to working with him. Gary has grown up in Carrickfergus and is already heavily involved in the local community, so it is great to bring someone who is already very familiar with the Club on board.
Carrick Rangers FC Academy has over 400 players enrolled at present from Under 5 right up to Under 18, and in recent seasons we have seen Academy Graduates go on to become First Team regulars in Kurtis Forsythe, Ben Buchanan-Rolleston and most recently Joshua Andrews.
Carrick Rangers FC Academy is an exciting place to play football and we look forward to continuing to develop the education we are offering to young footballers in the Carrickfergus area and beyond.
