Thank You Dixie

Following over 30 years of service across a range of roles, Carrick Rangers stalwart Noel Dean has decided to step down from his involvement with the men’s first team.

Noel, best know as “Dixie” to many, played for and captained Carrick during his career before becoming a coach for the ‘Gers following the conclusion of his playing days.

Most recently, Noel served as kit manager for the men’s first team, playing a vital role in the backroom staff of various managers throughout the last decade.

Speaking with pride as he reflected on his decision, Noel said,

“It has been an honour to be involved with the team for more than 700 games across my own playing career as well as the roles that followed.

“Now is an ideal time for me to step away as we enter the New Year; I do so on very good terms with everyone at the Club and I wish Stephen, the staff and the players all the very best.

“I’ll not be a stranger, though; you’ll see me at plenty of games, standing alongside the Amber Army in the stands and terraces to cheer the team on.”

“I’ve been very proud to represent the Club in a lot of roles, but the proudest part of it all was having the privilege of pulling on the Amber shirt. AMBER ALWAYS!"

On behalf of everyone at Carrick Rangers, thank you, Dixie, for the immense contribution you have made to the Club over so many years as well as your undoubted continued support.
