The Split begins

The split begins on Tuesday evening, as Carrick take on Cliftonville just 10 days on from their last head-to-head, this time at Taylors Avenue.

Last time out, the ‘Gers were defeated 3-0 at Solitude. After a solid first 40 minutes, in which Carrick had a number of chances, including Danny Gibson racing through on goal, only to be stopped by keeper Lewis Ridd. It was on minute 44 that some neat skill from Joe Gormley unlocked the defence, allowing Shea Gordon to slot home. Ryan Curran poked home a second just before the hour mark before Alex Parsons scored the third after an initial penalty save three minutes from the end.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, for Carrick, Reece Glendinning continued his recovery featuring for the U20s in a 1-0 over Glenavon last Wednesday. Paul Heatley, Joe Crowe, Curtis Allen, Seanan Clucas and Ross Glendinning remain doubts, along with Ethan Boyle who was unable to continue with 20 minutes to play at Solitude, having twisted his knee.

Your support, as always, would be greatly appreciated and below, you can find information for ticketing arrangements.
