In March, ‘Gers left Shamrock Park having been defeated by a Joshua Ukek strike in the 83rd minute. However it was back in September when the sides last met at Taylors Avenue, Eamon Fyfe netting the winner for Portadown that day. Carrick will be hoping to turn around a poor recent run of results against the Shamrock Park men.
For Stephen Baxter and staff, it’s been a period of rehab and recovery in a bid to get a number of first team players fit and available at the business end of the season. Kyle Cherry could feature on Saturday with Paul Heatley, Curtis Allen, Reece Glendinning all on the road to recovery. Ethan Boyle remains a doubt with a knee injury.
