Holm Park the Destination

Carrick Rangers travel to take on Armagh City in Round 1 of the BetMcLean Cup on Tuesday evening.

It's been almost 9 years since the 'Gers last visited Holm Park, also in the League Cup, where the ‘Gers won 2-0 on their way to that season's final. Steven McCullough and TJ Murray were on the scoresheet on an evening where Glenn Taggart was caretaker manager.

Armagh, under the stewardship of Shea Campbell, currently sit ninth in the Playr-Fit Championship with their most recent game a 3-0 victory over Dundela on Saturday with goals from Igor Rutkowski, Conor Mullen and Joseph Moore. Former ‘Gers Albert Watson and Jack Hastings are currently Armagh players.

Carrick meanwhile, come off the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Ballymena United at Taylors Avenue. Nedas Maciulaitis gave the ‘Gers the lead before Kym Nelson and Ryan McNickle secured the Sky Blues the three points. Stephen Baxter will be looking for a response from his side after a run of league defeats despite promising periods during each match.

‘Gers boss Baxter may opt to rotate the squad on Tuesday evening, however remains without the services of Adam Lecky (hamstring), Ethan Boyle, Seanan Clucas (both knee), Reece Glendinning (hand) and Cameron Stewart. Joe Crowe is available for selection having served his one game suspension for accumulation of 5 yellow cards.

Your support, as always, would be greatly appreciated and below, you can find information for ticketing and travel arrangements.
