Rangers visit Mourneview Park

Carrick Rangers travel to Mourneview Park on Saturday to take on Glenavon.

Both sides come into this weekend’s Sports Direct Premiership fixture having been in cup action on Tuesday evening.

Glenavon were defeated by Annagh United in the Mid Ulster Cup, with new manager Michael O’Connor taking charge for the first time in a 6-5 loss on penalties following a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes.

O’Connor was appointed the new manager of the Lurgan Blues last weekend following Paddy McLaughlin’s departure at the end of September following 9 straight league defeats.

Carrick in contrast, come off the back of a 5-4 win on penalties against Glentoran in the quarter final of the Co. Antrim Shield after the game had finished 2-2 with goals from Jimmy Callacher and Jack Scott from the spot.

The Shield victory followed an important 3 points against Portadown in League action last Saturday.

The teams have already met once this season, with Carrick edging the tie 1-0 at Taylors Avenue courtesy of Danny Gibson. Stephen Baxter will be hoping for more of the same from his team.

Your support, as always, would be greatly appreciated and below, you can find information for ticketing arrangements.
