Portadown In Town

Ninth placed Carrick Rangers host eleventh placed Portadown in League action on Saturday.

Portadown return to Taylors Avenue on Saturday, just over 5 weeks on from when the sides last met, back then a Luke McCullough header from a Jack Scott free-kick was enough to earn the 'Gers all three points.

Carrick go into the fixture on Saturday following their semi-final penalty win over Larne in the County Antrim Shield on Tuesday evening, at a cold Taylors Avenue. That tie saw starts given to Scott Pengelly, Ryan Waide and Ben Buchanan-Rolleston. Adam Lecky also playing his first full 90 minutes following his return from a recent hamstring setback. Reece Glendinning returned to the matchday squad for the first time this season, but was an unused substitute.

For Saturday's visitors, they were involved in one of only two League fixtures last weekend, drawing 1-1 at home to Bangor. Eamon Fyfe opened the scoring for the Ports before Ben Arthurs levelled just after half-time. Niall Currie welcomed Aaron McCarey back into starting XI having following his three game suspension. Whilst Josh Ukek also returned to action for the Ports.

Stephen Baxter will be hoping the 'Gers can bounce back in the League after a disappointing result two weekends ago, however will be without Ethan Boyle, Nedas Maciulaitis (both knee), and Cameron Stewart. Kyle Cherry has served his one game suspension so could return to the matchday squad.

Your support, as always, would be greatly appreciated and below, you can find information for ticketing arrangements.
