'Gers host The Swifts

Carrick Rangers host Dungannon Swifts on Saturday, in what is the penultimate home game of 2025 at Taylors Avenue.

Carrick Rangers return to Taylors Avenue this weekend looking to overturn a run of four consecutive league defeats. In those four games, the ‘Gers have produced numerous spells of positive play, a theme which continued last Saturday at the Coleraine Showgrounds. Adam Lecky had given Carrick an early lead, with Danny Gibson also hitting the bar and Luke McCullough forcing a save from Coleraine keeper Harris. However, by not taking those chances, Carrick left the door open, and second-half goals from Charles Dunne, Jamie McGonigle and Dean Jarvis saw the Bannsiders run out 3–1 winners.

Dungannon Swifts arrive in good spirits after their 2–1 victory away to Ballymena United. Cathal McGinty put them ahead after just eight minutes, and although United levelled, Adam Glenny produced a fine finish 15 minutes from time to secure all three points for the Swifts.

The sides last met on 23rd August at Stanmore Park, when Carrick came away with the win thanks to a well-taken brace from Adam Lecky. Their previous encounter at Taylors Avenue, however, came in March’s Irish Cup quarter-final, the Swifts running out 3-1 winners on their way to lifting the trophy.

Stephen Baxter remains without without Ethan Boyle, Nedas Maciulaitis (both knee), and Cameron Stewart.
