Able to operate on the wing or centrally, Nixon first became a Carrick Rangers player ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
He had followed former coach Clifford Adams in joining, having worked with him previously during his spells at Ballymena United, Wakehurst and Ballyclare Comrades, and enjoyed a fantastic debut season which saw the 'Gers win promotion via the play-offs.
Carrying his good form into the following year, Nixon sealed a move to Coleraine for an undisclosed fee and spent 18 months at the Showgrounds before he returned to Carrick.
In a frustrating first campaign back, the forward struggled to play consistently due to injury problems.
