When the 'Gers travelled to take on Portrush in a pre-season friendly on the 7th of August, Stuart King likely didn't expect to come away with his eyes on one of the opposition's players.
However, home goalkeeper Matthew Skeet arguably would have taken the Man of the Match award for a string of fine saves to deny the Premiership outfit anything more than a 3-0 win. With King needing to add another 'keeper to the squad, he took a moment to chat to the 26-year-old after the game. The rest is history.
Although native to the North Coast, he didn't let the commute to Carrickfergus stand in his way of a chance with a top flight side. A great shotstopper with strong kicking ability, he has done well when called upon so far this season and will look to nail down the starting berth in the ongoing battle between himself, Aaron Hogg and Neil Shields.
